Methods of treatment

Facet joint infiltration

With this treatment method, the vertebral joints (facet joints) causing pain are infiltrated with
medication to alleviate pain and reduce inflammation. Treatment takes place using an image
converter. The vertebral joint causing pain is therefore exactly localised. The precise infiltration
of the medication is then realised using a special syringe.

At the Ligamenta Spinal Centre we perform this intervention primarily on the lumbar spine.
Treatment takes place in our surgery in a short space of time. As a rule, no physical limitations
are to be expected.

Indications:

  • wear of the vertebral joints (facet joint arthritis)
  • local spinal pain without radiation into the arms or legs (pseudo-radicular pain)
  • diagnostic clarification with a view to successful cryotherapy or determination of indication for an operation
