Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy (cold therapy) refers to the targeted use of coldness to achieve a therapeutic effect. This
minimally invasive method is virtually free of side effects which can help patients suffering from spinal
pain. The intervertebral joints (facet articulations) and the nerves leading to these are chilled using a
tiny probe, and the typical pain symptoms vanish.

The method combines a number of advantages of modern medicine:

  • low risk
  • high effectiveness and high success rate
  • good visual guidance of the operation

All of these advantages are without having to subject the patient to full anaesthetic.

This form of cryotherapy is recommended above all for the treatment of chronic back pain,
i.e. pain which has persisted over a long time.
